Scientology Volunteer Ministers In the South Pacific

November 21, 2007

After a successful tour in Samoa helping 1,404 people with direct 1 on 1 help, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers depart with a personal thank you from the Samoan Prime Minister. Photo of the Samoan dignitaries in attendance at the closing ceremony.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers had such a successful five weeks in front of the Government Building that they were asked to tour around the villages of Samoa. Thousands of people went into the yellow tents to find out for themselves what is Scientology?

In fact 1,404 people have been personally helped one-on-one by a Scientology Volunteer in Samoa, with the different problems and struggles that face every one of us. Issues such as someone struggling with school, with drug addiction, relationship troubles, family problems, violence and abuse.

The Hon. Prime Minister showed his full support of the great work the group is doing in his speech at the closing ceremony of the yellow tents last week. "We thank you for selecting Samoa to be one of the countries to be included in the responsibility of your Goodwill Tour around the Pacific.

This is not the first time I have spoken at one of your graduation ceremonies. The success stories and feedback of the people you have helped is indicative of the knowledge you can pass on and your dedication to help others."

Now the Scientology Volunteer Ministers have been welcomed in Vailele by the village high chiefs and have been busy passing on their knowledge and skills to the village to help them be prepared for any disasters as well as immediately increase their standard of living.

A letter from Pulenu'u Samoa Malae Isumu states: "According to this important programme our village has learnt more and more as time goes on. First we learn how to help people attacked or hurt by tsunami, earthquakes, fires, etc. Not only that we learn to help people having bad memories or bad feelings. Even when two people argue and also family problems. These volunteers show us Assists that help if someone is injured or ill and it gives a person a big change or good feelings, like the "Touch Assist" and "Nerve Assist." This programme is important for children in Primary School, College, University students, workers, employers, employees and parents too.

In finishing I would like to say that the Scientology Volunteers are not here to preach religion.

The programme is about knowing, passing on knowledge and skills. Lastly, thank you to the Government of Samoa for this important and beautiful programme. It helps us a lot. Thank you." An assist is a number of steps done to help some confront the physical difficulties they're having and bring about relieve and recovery. Another letter from Head of the Women's Association, Sauimalae Sofala Samoa states: "First I want to say thank you for this important and beautiful programme. Thanks to the Scientology Volunteers for their sharing to us their knowledge and skills about Scientology. We learn the "Touch Assists" which helps injured or ill body parts. This is the most important assists for old people. Another is "Nerve Assists" which consists of gently releasing the standing waves in the nerve channels of the body, improving communication with the body. Not only that it helps a person having any pain in the body very much. Accordingly these people are not here to challenge the name of God because we all know there is one God above. They are here to share more about Scientology which means knowing about knowing. So I can tell you right now we all support this special programme because its very, very important for our community. Last thank you to the Hon. Prime Minister for asking them to visit our village and they've taught us a lot. May God bless these Scientology Volunteers with there missions."

The Director of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers South Pacific Goodwill Tour was asked about his feedback on their time in Vailele so far. "Immediately we were warmly welcomed by the Vailele village leaders. They are very good people and great leaders for their community. The word Scientology means "the study of knowledge" or the "study of truth." What we teach is from the investigation and research done by Mr. L. Ron Hubbard, the Founder of Scientology. It is based on natural law. Just as when you drop something gravity makes it fall down, it is the same with the knowledge we have available for anyone to learn. You can learn and use the simple but effective techniques to immediately improve your life. It's very practical and workable. But you are left to judge this for yourself. The best advice I can give is have a look and see for yourself for only then will you know. We will continue on around Upolu for another month before moving on to the next country."
